On Friday, TechCrunch published a series of leaked images that suggest Google is working on creating its own Google-branded physical and virtual debit card. This is a move that is similar to Apple who had just launched their card a few months ago. Future customers with the smart Google Card will be able to make payments online, with their phone, or with the phyiscal card which is rumored to partnered with different banks like Citibank and Stanford Federal Credit Union. Click "Read More" to know more.
The conncected bank account can be login on a mobile application on which users can monitor their purchases and balance, and even lock their account. According to Google plan, this card will be the stepping stone for the Google Pay platform that is more in-sync with the retailers online and offline. This will put Google on par with Apple, and also the bigger boys like Mastercard, VISA and AMEX.

This product and service has immense potential to catapul the company into a major fintech business. Given Google massive and connected ecosystem of apps, services, hardware and etc, the addition of Google Pay will bring Google new service into every consumer's wallet. A step that is missing in Google ecosystem for quite awhile.
