There's been quite a number of questions hurled round the park on where's the cheapest place to get an Amazon Kindle in Singapore or can you even get an Amazon Kindle in Singapore? Trust us, people are actually asking. Bummer for you guys if that's what you're lookin to find out, we won't be going in specifics because you can defo get your authentic Amazon Kindle here at Geekbite.
Today is bout the deeper semantics, so what's it for ya? We know you love to read or maybe you'd like to pick up the habit of reading and you know this'll prolly be the best investment you're gonna make in your life because you know what they say - readers are leaders right
Let's get right to it, which is the go-to for you lot who'd love to get your hands on the hype - Amazon Kindle. Goes without saying that it's prolly the hot craze for bookworms these days. Anyways here are our thoughts on it.
We're not ranking this in any particular order so it's a lot more on the specs and what you're actually looking for.
The Kindle 8th Gen.
Well, for those of you who'd like something really basic then this Kindle might just appeal to you. Not too crazy on the price tag and it definitely gets the job done. The basic specs on this bad boy are:
Informr Score of 7.8/10 - for those of you who're the fans of review thangs.
Price: SGD$129.99 (Yup that's Singapore dollars alright)
6 inch Screen with 167 ppi touch screen.
This one goes with a Storage space of 4GB, that's huge if you're wondering how much that can take (this isn't your PS4, it's for books guys), i'd say you'll prolly be able to store round 2,000 to 3,000 ebooks.
Battery Life is pretty efficient too, rounding up to 3 or 4 weeks with a single charge.
There's a little flaw to it tho, it's not built with a backlight so for those of you night muggers it might just be a little annoying for you guys.
On the upside, here at Geekbite we pour out a lot more love than the other guys, so with an 8 Gen Kindle and a price tag of SGD$129.99 you're not just getting the Kindle, you'll be getting a FREE protective pouch, a screen protector AND we'll be giving you FREE 8,000 Ebooks and a tutorial that comes with it (IKR? so much love). HIT HERE if you'd like to check it out.
2nd in line we've got the champ! The infamous Kindle Paperwhite, some say his reputation could match Connor Mcgregor himself (or Anthony Joshua) NOOOO KIDDINGGG. We digressed, sorry bout that but anyway, the
thing is, we've got the heavyweight coming in at SGD$199.99.
He's got an informr score of 8.8/10 (YEAH IT'S ALMOST FLAWLESS NO KIDDING)
So it's got all the good looks, a real slayer this one:
6 inch Screen
300PPI touchscreen optimised with BACKLIGHT.
Same thang, goes with 4GB Space and for all the love you've shown us
we're also givin you FREE 8,000 ebooks for you and a tutorial for you to
follow through of course. As usual, we give more love cos you'll also be getting a FREE protective pouch and a screen protector (stay safe guys, we're all about that life). If you're a real go-getter, this one's defo for you, the backlight in it is bae, you can read whenever, whatever and wherever without hurtin your eyes (Yup including 50 shades of grey). For this, we'll tell you to believe the hype because it's been around and it's still the best player in most's eyes. If you're lookin for somethin durable that'll not hurt your wallet then you're lookin at the best bang for you buck right here, definitely a huge recco if you're still fickle minded bout which Amazon Kindle you'd like to buy. MORE HERE.
Last but not least, it's the man of the hour - Mr Kindle Voyage, the Jack Sparrow of the Amazon. This one right here runs on an 8.5/10 informr score.
Why so? Here're some pointers then maybe you can decide against the critics.
6 Inch screen 300ppi touchscreen with E Ink Carta™ (IKR Sounds so sexy)
Well, it's built for better contrast and there's a lovely backlight to it that might even run better than your candlelight dinner on Valentine's. It's got PagePress sensors with haptics (don't mind the jargon), it turns pages easily without lifting your fingers. If you're comparing this with the paperwhite in terms of Aesthetics you'll definitely find it lighter and slimmer. However, the exorbitant price tag gets the jaws to drop, it's retailing at SGD$359.99. Justifiable with the sexy appearance? That's up to you to decide and maybe you can write a letter to Bezos bout your thoughts. To compensate with the jack-up in the price we're giving you the usual love load of 8,000 FREE Ebooks, Protective Pouch and a Screen Protector. For you hipsters who'd like to be the Alpha in the pack and go ahead with the purchase, you can jump on the bandwagon HERE <LINK>.
With our best 3 laid out, let us know which your favourite Amazon Kindle? For those of you who'd like to purchase just the Ebooks you can also do it here <Link> and maybe you'd like to take a look around, there's more than just Google Homes & Snapchat goggles in our lab. Run free and grab em all.
P.s. Stay tuned to our contents so you don't miss out on our addictive drops and new release!
Here it is, the History of the Kindle. We're not Pro Bezos (even though we think he kicks ass) but from what we've gathered, this is the history of the Kindle for those of you lovers who're interested, we hope you find it lovely. Here goes ~
Sooooo - Okay class, make yourselves comfortable cos you're in for the next chapter of our History lesson - The History Of KINDLE. *claps* Yeah, we figured you'd jump of your chairs on this one, so here goes. Do note prices are in USD, not in SGD! Now let's get to itttt.
P.s. We're going real brief here, let us know if you actually love the freestyle copy on the bars here guys (otherwise we'll just go conventional to essays again)
First launched in 2007, was actually so popular it got sold out within the day and remaining stocks within months.
Specs: 6 inch - screen and 250mb (expandable by SD card) - sold for $400
Kindle 2: (2009)
It wasn't much of an improvement, had keyboards and rough text-to speech option, launched at $360
Kindle DX (2009 & 2010)
Nope, not inspired by DMX if ye dawgs feel me.
9.7 inch screen, 2.5 times bigger than regular kindle screen.
Well, a step forward technologically and conceptually.
It's got native PDF and an inclinometer, yup pretty slick if you ask me.
(was supposed to pave ways for newspapers and textbooks to rlly get a whole community of ereaders)
Kindle 3 : (2010)
had Wifi and 3G.
It's got sharper pearl screen and pretty graphite body.
Kindle with special offers;
dawn of the Ad Era
$114 - cheaper because of the ads
Kindle 4 (2011)

Most affordable Amazon e-reader to hit the market.

of reading in the dark (even tho they were behind their competitors - Nook and Kobo Glo)
Enhanced pixel density on it's 6 inch screen
Kindle Paperwhite 2 (2013)
the 2.0 of paperwhite
E-ink carta display technology, pages load on the paperwhite 2013 incredibly quickly
Improved LED illumination and a 1ghz processor which made the 2nd gen 25% than the original.
Design were somewhat similar(28 hour battery life)
Kindle Voyage (2014)
lightest, smallest , most advanced e reader yet - could adjust the display illumination for better contrast and backlighting
Retailed at $199 for the ad- supported version
e-reading fans were given the opportunity to pick up a great product at a very reasonable price even if it was too high
Kindle 8 (2015)
Physical buttons were completely absent from the Kindle 7, which was the first basic Kindle to rely on touch-screen navigation. It also included a 1GHz processor and 4GB internal storage. And at $80 for the ad-riddled version, those impressive specs came at a surprisingly affordable price.
The catch? No integrated light. Investing in the Kindle 7 meant becoming beholden to artificial light sources once again. Still, if you could deal with the lack of LED lighting, the 2014 basic-level Kindle offered some decent specs at a price most could afford.

Accelerometer build in it - detects whether you're reading with your left or right hand.
Well, here we go again with the million dollar quesh for the OGs right (that's Original Geeks for starters < we'd like to think we're just as cool even if you think otherwise > ). So enough intro from us and on to the catch for you.
Well for starters, the Kindle is by far one of the best inventions for many of us bookworms out there, yup including us as well. It's been ages since it's release to the market and with myriad new models coming into the market you bet you're missin out if you don't have your hands on one. So the thing with the Paperwhite and why it's still selling like hotcakes even though there's Kindle Oasis, Kindle Voyage, Kindle Fire and prolly there might even just be a Kindle Geekbite too (HAHA real funny, but no seriously guys), is that it is the fact that it's is affordable and filled with many features, definitely worth your money.
Okay, so what do we mean by it being worth your money right? We'll go out the gutter with the pointers. Firstly, it's got a great glare-free screen. Without those pesky harmful blue rays lighting that causes damages and fatigues to our eyes. Amazing lighting adjustments, real feast for the eyes I'd say (not to mention the responsive display). Okay we could actually go on about how great the kindle paperwhite is but the big catch we feel is that it's got an amazing battery life to top it up too and when we mean amazing we mean it lasts dayysssss without having it charged every other night (so for those of you lot who're lazy bumps out there who crash straight after work, you don't have to worry about bringing your kindle paperwhite back to raffles place (or wherever your lovely office is) the next morning without having it charged. I guess S$199 (link) for a really solid companion is not too much to ask for right? Yeah, we know everyone else is selling twice the price of that in the market but we're not everyone, we're just way cooler - go check it out we're prolly the cheapest place to buy Kindle Paperwhite in Singapore (go on check it out here <link>).
We know we've been going on about all the good stuff but you really should check it out though, besides we'll give it to ya on a silver platter with all the good stuff that comes with it (eg free delivery countrywide, warranty, screen protectors and protective pouch, you should be checkin it out by now). Truth be told, we just wanna spread the love out there to you guys and we'll be more than willing to do what we can to build our OG community so you guys can benefit more out of it. That's pretty much about it for now but we've got some really great contents lined up for you guys with getting you guys - free ebooks for your Kindle (yeah it's alright if you didn't buy the Kindle from us, we still love you for it) and more pro tips or lifehacks, who knowwsss. hey hey hey, well whaddya know, most of you prolly already know bout Goodreads which is why we didn't mention this mainstream boy earlier cos this isn't billboard top 100, it's in no particular order. They don't have a huge catalog, maybe round 2500 books but it gets the job done but I'll tell you something, these guys got the prequel of all prequels - if you're a qudditch kinda guy or a Hermione at heart, then you're in for a treat because they've got a prequel to the Harry Potter series even before sorcerer's stone, yeah it's actually a backstory before J.K. Rowling rolled out on her conquest. Go check it out guys, it's actually really solid stuff.
