POCO is introducing another interesting contender in the entry-level smartphone segment.
Here we have the new POCO C55, which comes with a large screen, a sharp camera, and a premium-looking design on the back.
The POCO C55 boasts a 6.71-inch display with Panda Glass protection. Despite its enormous size, it only has an HD+ pixel resolution due to the price. It also uses a standard 60Hz refresh rate but with a responsive 120Hz touch sampling rate.
On the back, we have a faux leather design, complete with fake stitching. There’s the signature large camera icon on the top, with the bold POCO logo and the dual camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel and 2-megapixel depth sensor.
We also have the fingerprint scanner on the same island, while the front only has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The device is also IP52-rated for being splashproof.
It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, one of the few capable chips in this price range. It has two RAM options of 4GB and 6GB and storage of 64GB and 128GB.
The battery has a 5,000mAh capacity, just like everyone else, but with a slow 10W charging adapter. It also uses the old microUSB port instead of USB Type-C.
Available in India come February 28, the Xiaomi sub-brand launched the POCO C55 with a price of INR9,499 (~S$154.00) for the 4GB/64GB while the 6GB/128GB is at INR10,999 (~S$178.32). No word yet if it’s coming to the Singapore.
