Xiaomi has introduced its flagship line to the global stage. Along with it is the introduction of a cheaper option, the Xiaomi 13 Lite.
Launched alongside the global versions of the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro flagships, the new Xiaomi 13 Lite is obviously a more affordable alternative carrying a midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. It can be paired with 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
On the front there’s a pretty appealing display. It’s a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel that boasts a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 12-bit color, HDR10+ support, 1920Hz PWM dimming to keep your eyes safe, and 1,000-nits of peak brightness.
You can also spot a pill-shaped notch on top, which houses two front-facing cameras. There’s a sharp 32-megapixel sensor with a 100-degree wide-angle lens, an oddly sharp 8-megapixel depth sensor that could’ve already been an ultra-wide, and two LED flash that the company calls “Xiaomi Selfie Glow”.
The Leica branding and technology didn’t make it to the cheaper Xiaomi 13 model, but it does have a 50-megapixel IMX766 sensor from Sony, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
Like its predecessors, the Xiaomi 13 Lite’s bragging feature is its thin and light design measuring at only 7.2mm at 171g. However, this led to a slightly smaler 4,500mAh battery. On the upside, it does have a flagship-level 67W charging adapter.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite has a starting price of EUR499 (~S$712.93) and will be available in select markets starting March 8. Release details in Singapore are yet to be known.
